My late husband, Yu-Xin Liu, was born in Yili, Xinjiang, China, on February 15, 1932. He was 88 years old when he went to be with the Lord on October 16th, 2020 at 5:30 pm after staying in the hospital for more than 20 days due to heart and kidney failure.
During the War of Resistance in about year 1940s, he moved with his parents to Chongqing where he completed elementary and middle school, and then finished high school education in Nanjing after the war ended of 1945. After high school, he was admitted to several universities for higher education such as Nanjing Pharmaceutical University, and Armor Military School; however, due to the war, he was not able to attend and, once again, relocated with his parents to Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.
In May 1949, at 17 years old, he was admitted to Jiangxi August 1 Revolutionary Army and Political University. Upon graduation, he found employment at Jiangxi Radio Station where he held a successful career as a radio engineer for about 41 years until his retirement in 1992. He received many awards for his work achievements and was highly regarded by his colleagues
My late husband was an avid learner and a man of many hobbies. At 50 years of age, he started learning new languages like Japanese, and studied law, in which, after passing the Board of Examination, received a law certificate. He was also a licensed agent for patent applications. He loved music, literature, reading and writing. He especially loved photography, traveling, journaling and keeping in touch with family and friends.
My late husband was the fifth child of seven siblings. He was a man of integrity who treated others with great sincerity. He lived a frugal life but was always willing to help others in need such as his siblings, siblings' grandchildren, colleagues, and friends. To his children and grandchildren, he was always generous with his money and often encouraged them to work hard and to live honest lives.
Although we were married for 63 years, I have known him for 70 years. We raised 2 daughters, Yolanda and Patty, and a son named Robert. We moved to the U.S. in 1991 to be near our children. Together In 2003, we became Christians. Now we have 7 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren. God’s blessings are great upon our 4-generation family.
My late husband's final wish was to be buried in Dallas. And now, on behalf of my late husband, children, and grandchildren, I want to extend my gratitude to our church friends, friends, and families.
With sorrow and gratitude, Mu-Xiang Yang 10/24/2020
