Yolanda R. Garcia, a pillar of love and strength in her family, peacefully departed from this world on March 1, 2024, in Melissa, Texas, at the age of 85. She was born on November 22, 1938, to George Rodriguez and Guadalupe Espinoza Rodriguez in McAllen, Texas.
Yolanda was united in holy matrimony with the late Leonel M. Garcia on November 29, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, spanning an incredible 65 years until Leonel's passing in 2023. Together, they built a life centered around devotion to family and community.
Professionally, Yolanda was a savvy entrepreneur, owning a successful business Custom Deli’s Equipment supplying deli equipment with her late husband, Leo. Her dedication and hard work contributed to the thriving local economy and made her a respected figure in the business community.
Yolanda's faith was an integral part of her life. She was a lifelong Catholic, finding hope and strength in her spiritual beliefs, which guided her through both joyful and challenging times.
Above all, Yolanda cherished her role within her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her nurturing presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and warmth.
Yolanda leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Yvonne Garcia of Garland, Texas; son, Rick Garcia and wife, Veronique of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Yvette Aleman and husband, Noe of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Yolanda Neel and husband, Bill of Garland, Texas; granddaughters, Stephanie Garcia and Jessica Neel; grandsons, Jessy Luna and Noah Aleman; brothers, Ruben Rodriguez and Arturo Rodriguez; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Garcia; parents and brother, Harvey Rodriguez.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Yolanda’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/yolanda-r-garcia. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service. A reception will be held at the funeral home immediately after the committal.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday afternoon one hour prior to the service. Rosary service to begin at 1:30 p.m.
