Winter Davis White, Jr.

Winter Davis White, Jr. of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 28, 2021 at the age of 96. He was born on January 13, 1925 to Winter Davis White, Sr. and Thelma Rebecca (Pease) White in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Winter grew up in Okesa, Oklahoma and attended schools in Nelagoney, Oklahoma where he graduated from high school. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Winter married Edith Mae Burd on February 6, 1943 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. They moved to Portland, Oregon and he worked at ship building and then moved to the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. They moved to Borger, Texas where he began working in the oil field supply business, working the majority of his life at Bovaird Supply. Winter enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and loved the Oklahoma Sooners. He was a member of First Christian Church of McKinney.

Winter is survived by his wife, Edith White of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Winna Hankins and husband, Jerry of Lake Kiowa, Texas; grandchildren, Rebecca Crane and Emily Hensel and husband, T.C., all of McKinney, Texas; great-grandchildren, Austin Crane, Carly Crane, Katy Crane, Cassidy Crane, Hunter Westbrook, Addie Westbrook, Trace Hensel and Reese Hensel; and a host of other loving family friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winter and Thelma White; brother, Dewitt White; and his sister, Betty Blue.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at First Christian Church McKinney, 1800 West Hunt Street, McKinney, Texas 75069.

Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 6, 2021 at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7500 West Britton Road, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73132.
