IN LOVING MEMORY

Winola Louise Pearson

Nov 24 1929 - Sep 13 2017

Winola Louise Elliott Pearson, age 87, and lifelong resident of Frisco, Texas, passed away on September 13, 2017.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Winola was the 7th child of the 8 children born to Mamie (Talley) and John William Elliott.  On her 19th birthday, she married the love of her life and best friend, Billy Joe Pearson, and they remained married for 65 years until his death in 2013.  She was also preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.

Winola was an excellent seamstress, sewing for many of the “old” Frisco residents and making just about all her daughters’ clothes.  She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Frisco, and she also worked for 28 years in the Oil & Gas industry as a secretary.  Easily content, kind, patient, encouraging, and loving, Winola enjoyed being the quiet, supportive side-kick of her husband, Bill; going wherever he went and being a help-mate in every way.  She lived the life she wanted to live, focusing on faith, family, friends, and the community of Frisco she loved so much.

She is survived by her children, Kay Pritchett of McKinney, Texas, and Connie Abernathy and her husband, Michael, of Celina, Texas; four grandchildren, Colby Pritchett and his wife, Jeniece, Courtney Abernathy Kuykendall and her husband, Eric, Jordan Abernathy and his wife, Ashley, and Jacob Abernathy and his wife, Jennie; great-grandchildren Pearson, Parker and Libby Kuykendall, Allie Abernathy and Virginia Rose Abernathy, as well as many loving nephews and nieces.

We also want to acknowledge the precious, lifelong friends she had in Frisco who continued to love on and care for her these last few years, and we would like to thank the many loving new friends and caretakers who assisted her at Parson’s House Assisted Living, as well as Accord Hospice Care, for their comfort and support in her last days.

The family requests memorials be made to the Texas Baptist Men Hurricane Relief or your favorite charity.

A Visitation will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, on Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
