Willie (Will) Darnell Clayton, Jr. was born in McKinney, Texas on September 10, 1975 to the late Willie D. Clayton, Sr. and Wilbur Jean Johnson-Clayton. Will was the youngest of 5, with 4 older sisters, who all treated him like their child. Yes, he was SPOILED and he knew it! He was our very on “Mitta” He was an avid athlete most of his life. He started early in life, running track at the age of six (Boys & Girls Club) playing football and running track, playing basketball in his school years both Jr. High and McKinney High School, McKinney, Texas where he graduated, going on to attend Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Will attended St. James C.M.E. Church, McKinney, Texas and later joined Believer’s Tabernacle, in McKinney, Texas, where he dedicated his life to Christ. He was a dedicated and loving father to his 4 children. Will never met a stranger. He always had a conversation and a smile for everyone he’d meet or greet. He was just that kind of guy.
His parents preceded him in death. Will leaves to mourn his celebration of life: four children, Jazzlyn Derousse, daughter, Rylee Clayton, daughter, Payton Anderson, daughter, and Brady Clayton, son; two grandchildren, Kaedynn Goodwin, grandson; Keyah Goodwin, granddaughter.; four sisters, Charlotte Patrick-Yost(Ronald) of Harvey, Louisiana, Cynthia Patrick-Allen(James) of McKinney, Texas, Gay Clayton-Griffin (Howard ) of Garland, Texas, and Mary Clayton-Cooper(Donald) of McKinney, Texas; five nephews, Clarence Harris, Jr., Camreon Harris, Clinton Harris, Jon Moore, and Joshua Allen; two nieces, Chari Clayton and Torii Allen; two aunts, Betty Palmer, and Sandra Bell; a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends; and two devoted friends, Jessica Stoff and cousin-brother, Micah Berry.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen for a committal service
The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
