Willie Jean Gilmore

Willie Jean Gilmore of McKinney, Texas passed away January 4, 2021 at the age of 75 years young.   She was born December 9, 1945 to Willie Lester Wilson and Louvenia (Tobe) Wilson in Wetumpka, Alabama.  Willie obeyed the gospel when she was just 12 years of age.  She served the Lord faithfully for many years, bringing souls to Christ.  Willie married the late Alfred Gilmore on December 3, 1989 in McKinney and they enjoyed 31 years of marriage before his passing in December 14, 2020.  She worked as a hair stylist for many years.  Willie was a devoted member of Throckmorton Street Church of Christ in McKinney.

She is survived by her three wonderful children, Airia John Harlan Jr. and wife, Grace of Porter, Texas, Robert Eugene Cole and Yolandera Austin, both of McKinney, Texas; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, James Ester Wilson of Chicago, Illinois; seven sisters, Carzel Wilson of Detroit, Michigan, Joyce Watson of Crosbyton, Texas, JoAnn Love and husband, Leroy , Margaret Atkins and husband, Mitchell, Patricia Jordon, all of  Lubbock, Texas, Dinah Muphy and husband, James of Pittsburg, Texas, and Sheniqua Kapita of Dallas, Texas. Willie also leaves to cherish her memory a host of brothers and sisters in Christ, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Gilmore; parents, Willie and Louvenia Wilson; beloved Leover Tobe; sister, Shirley Shed; and brothers, Ronnie Tobe and James Tobe.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of family members will be allowed to attend the memorial service.

A private family only funeral service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  The family respectfully asked that friends join the service by the live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Willie’s obituary page by clicking on the following https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/willie-jean-gilmore. Mrs.willie Gene was one of my Father's closest friends. She was always a bold ,humble down to earth Christian. She use to do my hair when I was a little girl. Mr. Alfred workedcwith my father.
