William Wells Marsh, the 4th son of Denver Marsh, Sr., and Alzada Wells Marsh, was born in Waxahachie, Texas in 1956. Bill, (the youngest of six siblings - Denver, Charles, Anne, Julia, and Frank,) spent his formative years on a beautiful farm south of Waxahachie. From an early age, Bill amazed his family with his wit, humor, and his wonderfully quirky way of seeing the world. When Bill entered fifth grade, his family moved to San Antonio, TX. In high school, he excelled in Math, Science, and English. He was selected for the National Honor Society. Bill graduated from Holmes High School in May 1974.
No one was surprised when Bill elected to attend Texas A&M, the university loved by his Dad. He enrolled in the Corps of Cadets and became a devout “Aggie.” Bill received his first degree in 1979 in the field of Animal Science and accepted a position with Dow Chemical. After a short time with Dow, Bill went back to A&M where he completed a second degree, Electrical Engineering.
Bill’s first real venture into the ‘bigger’ world was his employment with Honeywell. Bill and his wife, Cathy Carriere Marsh, moved to California. In California, Bill and Cathy were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Mackenzie and Alexa. In 1995 the family moved to Allen, Texas. They loved living in Allen and quickly found themselves surrounded by a large circle of friends. Bill and Cathy also found a time to spread their love to the fostering of needy children. In 2008, they adopted Nathan. Mackenzie, Alexa, and Nathan were the loves of Bill’s life.
Bill’s expanding knowledge opened the opportunity to change his professional path. He accepted a position with Marlow Industries. In 2014, Bill found what he called his “dream job” as an Applications Engineer at Ferrotec, a worldwide diversified technology corporation.
Bill was passionate about his work. When he talked about his work, the family just smiled and nodded as if we understood his ‘foreign language.’ With his wry wit, sense of humor, extreme intelligence, and humility, Bill could (and did) command and mesmerize everyone within hearing distance.
Bill Marsh is survived by daughters, Mackenzie and Alexa, his son Nathan, his mother, and his five siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas.
