William Jack Redmond

William Jack Redmond went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2008. Jack was the son of Gladys and Steve Redmond of Silsbee, TX. He was a graduate of Silsbee High School and Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Jack is survived by his soul mate Sue, two wonderful children, Amy Suzanne Taylor of Dallas and William Kevin Redmond of Houston, their spouses, Robert Scott Taylor and Patricia Ann Redmond, and four awesome grandchildren, Caitlyn Noelle Taylor, Cole Redmond Taylor, Nicholas Patrick Redmond and William Nathan Redmond. Jack was a member of the Texas Air National Guard and retired as a Lt. Colonel after serving 36 years. He was the Commander of two different Air National Guard Electrical installation Squadrons, the 272nd EIS Squadron at LaPort, TX and the 273rd EIS Squadron in Nederland, TX. Jack was a businessman, investment advisor, and active in many organizations. He was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church. Jack served on the board of the Tower Club of Dallas and as past President of the Air Force Association of Dallas. Jack loved to travel and was an avid golfer. He was honored to serve as a Marshall at the Ryder Cup golf tournament in Ireland. Jack lived life to the fullest and all that knew him respected his sense of humor, servant leadership, devotion to his family, loyalty to his country and his unwavering faith in God. A celebration of his life will be held at Prestonwood Baptist Church on Monday, March 10, 2008. Visitation will begin at 9am with the funeral at 10am. A reception will be held at the church following the service. The internment will be held with full military honors at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack Redmond Memorial Fund at the Kidney Cancer Association.
