William Faris Lawson

William Faris Lawson, 87, of Princeton, passed away December 22, 2003, at the Homestead Nursing Home in McKinney. He was born on January 14, 1917, in Princeton. He is the son of the late Robert and Clemmie (Gerron) Lawson. He was married to Gertrude Marie Wylie on December 23, 1937. W.F. was retried from E-Systems in Greenville after 32 years of service. He was devoted husband, father and cherished grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Bobby Lawson and wife, Janette, Billy Lawson and wife, Malinda of Princeton; daughter, Peggy Head and husband, Jim of Princeton; sister, Lena Williams and husband, C.W. of Mckinney; 4 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, and 2 grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at Princeton Cemetery with Rev. John Martin officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Papa, you have shown us so much love and strength over the years. You have taught us to be strong and to face things that we couldn’t have without your influence. You always believed in each of us and made us believe in ourselves. Thank you for being the best Papa a kid could ever ask for.
