William L. White III passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022. Known to all as Bill, he leaves behind a legacy of Christian faith and unending love for his wife Pam, his daughter Leslie, his cherished grandchildren William and Ellie, and his son-in-law, Patrick.
Bill was born December 3, 1946 in Whitewright, Texas, and he was the only son of William L. White Jr. and Ethel Harper White. After graduating from Whitewright High School in 1965, he attended the University of Texas in Austin where he graduated with a degree in accounting in 1970.
Prior to graduating from UT, Bill joined the Army Reserve in 1969 and he married the love of his life, Pamela Brown on September 13, 1969. Together, they started their life in Georgia while he was in the service. They later moved to Houston where Bill worked for an accounting firm. In 1973, their daughter Leslie was born. In 1976, Bill, Pam, and Leslie returned to the family farm in Trenton where, together, they built a wonderful life and a loving marriage of 53 years.
Bill worked at the First National Bank of Trenton for 35 years, and he served as the bank President for several years before retiring. Bill and Pam are members of the First Baptist Church Trenton where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
He enjoyed living and working on the farm with his beloved wife. He also enjoyed woodworking in his shop, and he was always willing to be of help to friends and family.
Bill White was a kind, patient, generous, and very wise man. He will be remembered for living a life that was an example of Proverbs 3:3-6 – always trusting in the Lord with all his heart and finding favor and high esteem in the sight of God and men. Bill will be very missed by those that knew and loved him, but we celebrate knowing he is home with the Lord.
A visitation will be held 6-8pm Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, Trenton, Texas. Funeral Services will be 1pm Monday, May 23, 2022 at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, Trenton, Texas. Officiating the service will be Pastors Jason Point, Rodney Stanford and Douglas Peebles. Pallbearers will be Brian Skinner, Jeff Barnes, Jeff Stogsdill, Ed Glessner, Kevin Shinn, and Greg Shinn. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright, Texas.
