William Kiel Scheffler

William Kiel Scheffler, age 74, of Denton, Texas, passed away on June 13, 2017.  He was born April 26, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, to Gustave Lloyd and Laura Jeanette (Johnson) Scheffler.  Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  On June 17, 1966, he married Gwendolyn Eileen Walker in Winter Harbor, Maine.  Bill grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he graduated from Kemper Military Academy; he later attended the University of Minnesota.  Bill worked as a sales representative beginning at Presto, but spent the majority of his career working for TXI of Dallas.  He moved from Minnesota to Indianapolis, Indiana, worked and raised his family in Houston, Texas and then retired to Robson Ranch in Denton, Texas.  Bill loved fly-fishing, woodworking and playing online video games with his sons and grandkids.  His favorite activity was spending time with his family.  Bill was an enthusiastic spectator at many of his grandkids’ performances and sporting events and hosted many wonderful barbecues for family and friends.  He attended Christ Fellowship Church, McKinney, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Eileen Scheffler of Denton, Texas; sons, Steven Scheffler and wife Lisa of McKinney, Texas, David Scheffler and wife Michelle of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Camden Scheffler, Elena Scheffler, Kiki Scheffler, Sam Scheffler and Mason Scheffler; mother-in-law, Frances Walker of Buckholts , Texas; a host of other loving family and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Gustave Lloyd and Laura Jeanette Scheffler.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
