William Wesley "Jim" Christian

William Wesley “Jim” Christian, age 94 formerly of Garland, passed away on May 17, 2014 in Sherman, Texas. He was born on March 24, 1920 in Weston, Texas to William Maxwell and Martha Ellen (Bullion) Christian. Jim married Dorothy Self on December 11, 1937 in McKinney, Texas. He was a veteran of World War II. Jim worked as a sales manager of Green Manufacturing where he retired after twenty-five years of service. He then became a driver for Merry Miler Vans where he worked until he was seventy-eight years old. Jim was a member of Elmont Baptist Church in Van Alstyne, Texas and a former member of First Baptist Church of Garland where he served as the Deacon.

He is survived by his three loving sons, Jim Christian of Van Alstyne, Texas, Garry Christian and wife Jean of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, and Larry Christian and wife Linda of Rockwall, Texas; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Christian; two brothers, Warden and Bernard; three sisters, Louise, Izzy and Hattie and his parents.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
