IN LOVING MEMORY

William Charles Duty

Jul 26 1942 - Apr 04 2023

William Charles Duty of Anna, Texas went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2023, at the age of 80. William, also known as Charles, was born to Bill and Bernice Duty on July 26, 1942, in Liberty, Texas.

Charles graduated from Lafayette High School in Lafayette, Louisiana and later attended Lafayette University. He was a Veteran of the Naval Reserves. Charles was very involved in his community; he served on the South Grayson Water Board for several years and was involved in the Boy Scouts for many years. Charles was a member and Deacon of the Heritage Church in McKinney, Texas. After 35 years Charles retired from Texas Instruments and began his retirement job at TxDot, he worked there for 5 years.

After his first retirement, Charles spent several years farming and enjoying his free time. His greatest love, however, was spending time with his family. Charles lived a life of honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and was dearly loved by those that knew him. Charles always made time for his family and others.

His legacy will carry on forever, reminding us that the most important work you will ever do will be inside the walls of your home. Family was and will always be everything to Charles and his family.

Charles is survived by his wife: Shirley Duty, two brothers: James and Darrell Duty, four children: Larry (Maura) Bridges, Kathleen (Clarence) Richardson, Diane Love (James), Chuck (Kristy) Duty, three stepchildren: Michael, Greg, and Jeff Moody, 16 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
