IN LOVING MEMORY

William C. "Bill" Stang

Jun 22 1945 - Jan 09 2023

William Charles Stang, “Bill”, age 77, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 9th, 2023. Bill was born in Hastings, Nebraska, on June 22nd, 1945, to Anna Marie (Sander) Stang and Clement Stang. He grew up in Oakley, Kansas, as the youngest of 14 children. During his youth he thrived on athletics, especially excelling in basketball, football, and wrestling. Bill attended Hutchinson Junior College on a football scholarship. He then went on to attend Kansas State University where he loved being a part of the football team, and was a brother of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He ended his secondary education at Emporia State College where he graduated with a degree in business.

Bill married the love of his life, Jeanette Ellen Evans, in Hutchinson, Kansas, on June 10th, 1967, and they were blessed with three children; Stacy Ann Stang Kelly, Steven Charles Stang, and Scott William Stang. Bill had an incredibly successful career at Ford Motor Company, where he started out in the mailroom and retired 37 years later as regional manager of the southwest division. Bill loved working in the auto industry, so he continued to work for Van Tuyl Automotive as a consultant even after his retirement. Bill loved watching football and rooting for the Nebraska Corn Huskers. When he moved to Texas he became a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a lifelong runner, completing the Charlotte Marathon in 1981. As he got older, he was committed to his health and spent a lot of his time going on walks, lifting weights, and playing golf. Bill had many philosophies on life, and passed those onto his children and grandchildren. He always encouraged his family to be the best employee in any job they had, whether it be the Vice President of a corporation or a part time summer job. He taught his family to excel, but the most important thing that set him apart was his ability to make life fun for those around him. His life philosophy is captured best through his own words “have fun… in all you do, and who you do it with.”

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanette Stang, and their three kids: Stacy and her husband Brian, Steve and his girlfriend Liz, and Scott and his wife Lisa; his 6 grandchildren, Anna Kelly, Steven Stang Jr, Charlie Kelly, Ben Kelly, Sam Stang, and Simon Stang; and his siblings, Connie Martin, Virgil Stang, Ron Stang, and Jerry Stang.
