William “Bill” L. Smith of Tyler, Texas passed away on June 16, 2019 at the age of 77. He was born on June 6, 1942 to Lawrence and Ruth (Owens) Smith in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy for six years. He married Louise J. Terebus on July 4, 1964 in Hawaii. They were married for 36 wonderful years before her passing on August 9, 2000. Bill then married Barbara White on August 20, 2016 in Holly Lake, Texas. He was active in the Knights of Columbus for five years and was also a member of a motorcycle club. He loved to travel in his motor home and attend concerts.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Barbara White of Tyler, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Howard and husband, Greg of Frisco, Texas; son, Brian Smith and wife, Heather of Weatherford, Texas; granddaughter, Taylor Howard of Plano, Texas; sister, Jeanne Cunkelman and husband, Jim of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and numerous other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Smith; his parents; and his brother, Robert Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening, June 21, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
