William Glenn “Bill” LaPrade of McKinney, Texas formerly of Dallas, Texas passed away on September 17, 2018 at the age of 90. He was born on September 15, 1928 to Glenn Thomas and Clara Iona (Murdock) LaPrade in Dallas, Texas. Bill graduated from Highland Park High School and later attended Southern Methodist University. He married Zara R. “Jean” Jones on April 6, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. Bill was a career postman for the United States Postal Service. He loved music and played many different instruments. As a young man, he performed and traveled with several Big Band groups and Jazz Bands.
William is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Jean LaPrade of McKinney, Texas; sons, Stephen Glenn LaPrade and wife, Sandy of Sidney, Nebraska and Ronald LaPrade and wife, Nora of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Joel LaPrade and wife, Jeannette, Alisha Jurgens and husband, Conan, Shanda Brafford and husband, Ephraim, Lorin Lowry and husband, Logan and Ross LaPrade and wife, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Blake LaPrade, Skyler Langer, Knox Lowry, Rhett Lowry, Everly Lowry and Greyson LaPrade; and numerous other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Clara LaPrade; and his sister, Patria Deen LaPrade.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
