It is with great sadness and regret that I have to announce the passing of my father, William "Bill" Brown.
Bill was born in 1959, and spent the majority of his youth living and working in Lake Dallas and Hickory Creek. He served as a volunteer fireman in the Lake Cities in the 80's and 90's, while raising my brother and I, as a single parent. Those were the years he was most proud of. Deservedly so. His best quality was his selflessness. He also spent many years of my childhood working at True Value and doing handy man work all over town. He knew everybody in Lake Dallas back then. And I thought he knew how to fix anything,...in his own time of course. He would stop and talk to anyone, sometimes, for way too long. He talked the ears off of countless Lowe's, O'Reilly's, and Homeland customers from Lake Dallas to Sanger. He was beloved by employees and customers alike.
Dad was happiest when he was running into old friends around town, going fishing, or spending time with family. He had a big heart. He welcomed anyone who needed a place to stay. And several of our friends lived with us for a time. And he rarely complained. We didn't have a lot, but he'd share it with you. He was the hardest worker I've ever known. And he was a very kind soul. He will be missed dearly.
Bill leaves behind two children, Mat and Brian, and siblings, Priscilla, Kay, David, and Lisa. He was loved by his grandkids, Avery, Carter, Brendan and daughter-in-law, Alicia. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frankie, his brother, Rob and daughter-in-law, Lacey.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2026 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
