William Allen McEachern, of Leonard, Texas, passed away on June 1, 2026, at the age of 60. He was born on June 23, 1965, in San Marcos, Texas, to Billy Neal and Helen Imogene (Bailey) McEachern. Allen married the love of his life, Tammy Newby, on June 14, 1987, in Athens, Texas. Together they shared 38 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and unwavering devotion to one another. A man known for his strong work ethic and dedication, Allen spent many years serving the North Texas Municipal Water District as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator from 1997 until his retirement in 2024. Following his retirement, he continued doing what he loved as a truck driver for Jay Norman at Norman Farms. Allen took great pride in his work and was respected by those who worked alongside him throughout his career.
Allen was a member of the Bois D’Arc Cowboy Church in Bonham, Texas. His faith guided him throughout his life and was reflected in the kindness, generosity, and steady presence he offered to family and friends. More than anything, Allen loved his family. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was hunting, and he especially loved teaching his grandchildren how to hunt, passing down lessons, traditions, and memories that will be treasured for generations. Recently, Allen discovered another special calling that brought him immense happiness—being Santa Claus at Christmas time. He embraced the role wholeheartedly, delighting children with his warm smile, gentle spirit, and unmistakable laugh. Whether he was sharing holiday magic, posing for photos, or listening to Christmas wishes, Allen found tremendous joy in making children feel loved and special. His family was the center of his world, and he never missed an opportunity to show them how much he loved them.
Allen will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Tammy McEachern of Leonard, Texas; children, Crimson Rose and husband, Lance, of Mt. Vernon, Texas, Jay-Jay Wolfe and wife, Amanda, of Farmersville, Texas, Melynee McEachern and partner, Jonathan Hamrick, of Mt. Vernon, Texas, and Ross McEachern and wife, Molly, of Royse City, Texas; grandchildren, Rylie Wolfe, Dawson Masingale, Brielle Rose and fiancé, Dooley Anders, Leenie Rose, Aubree Rose, Shane Rose, Jaylon Wolfe, Jayden Kieffer, Kaysen Wolfe, Jayse Wolfe, Layla Wolfe, Clayton Haney, MaKaylee Haney, Colton Haney, Hudson Hamrick, Harrison Hamrick, Audrey Hamrick, Brantley McEachern, and Joe McEachern; great-grandchildren, Dawson Anders and Adeline Wolfe; brother, J. D. McEachern; sister, Janice Booth and husband, Bill; along with several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Chris Carmichael.
The family will welcome guests for a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow, 701 North Cedar Street, Leonard, Texas 75452. A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Bois D’Arc Cowboy Church, 3301 State Highway 121, Bonham, Texas 75418. Following the service, burial at Mt. Vernon City Cemetery is tentatively scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
Pallbearers for Allen’s service are Jay-Jay Wolfe, Ross McEachern, J. D. McEachern, Rylie Wolfe, Dawson Masingale, Lance Rose, Shane Rose, Colton Haney, and Clayton Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Jaylon Wolfe and Jayden Kieffer.
Allen’s legacy is one of faith, hard work, loyalty, and love. Whether behind the wheel of a truck, in a deer stand teaching a grandchild, spending time with those he cherished most, or bringing joy to children as Santa Claus, Allen lived a life devoted to serving others. He leaves behind a family strengthened by his example and countless memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
