IN LOVING MEMORY

William Charles Litchford

Nov 14 1944 - Nov 06 2023

William Charles Litchford passed away on November 6, 2023, in Clarksville, Texas at the age of 78. He was born to Woodrow Wilson and Charlotte (Neeley) Litchford on November 14, 1944, in McKinney, Texas.

After graduating from Celina High School, William spent over thirty years farming in Celina and surrounding communities. After retiring from farming, he worked in the maintenance departments at Melissa ISD and Collin County.

William’s family will remember him as a loving and kind soul who had the gift of gab. He spent countless morning hours while he was farming at the Bobcat chatting with friends over a cup of coffee. Funny thing is, he didn’t even care for coffee. He was there for the comradery, speculation about the weather forecast, and to banter about the price of grain or whatever crop was currently in the field. William never met a stranger, valued honesty and hard work, and loved visiting and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Terry as well as his children, Tami Hines and husband, Paul of Clarksville, TX, Jason Smith and wife Melissa of McKinney, TX, and 6 grandchildren: Zach Hines and wife Sophie, Vivian Hines, Charlie Hines, Sierra Smith, Broc Smith, and Will Smith. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Alice Perry for her love and compassion over the past two years.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 10, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests for a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas following the service.
