Whitney Rae Vaughan of Anna, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2024, at the age of 26. She was born to Lance Ray Vaughan and Cindy Doolittle on February 27, 1998, in McKinney, Texas.
Whitney Vaughan, a beloved resident of Anna, Texas, attended high school there, where she was cherished for her bright smile and warm heart. Whitney had a natural ability to connect with others, and her love for people was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Whitney was a free spirit who found beauty and meaning in the world around her. She had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, often finding solace in nature, where she felt most at peace. Her love for life was reflected in her passion for hula hooping and her affinity for dream catchers, which symbolized her desire to bring positivity and protection to those she loved. Whitney embraced life with a carefree spirit, always seeking joy in the simple pleasures.
Her kind and loving nature will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Whitney’s vibrant spirit and the happiness she brought to others will be dearly missed.
Whitney is survived by her mother, Cindy Doolittle, and husband, John, of Allen, Texas; father, Lance Vaughan, and wife, Karen, of Anna, Texas; brother, Wesley Vaughan of Anna, Texas; brother, Dustin Winchell of McKinney, Texas; sister, Lexi Winchell of Anna, Texas; brothers, Dylan and Tyler Doolittle of Allen, Texas; grandparents, Dave and Cathy Peters of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; uncle, Steve Martin, and wife, Chrissy of Allen, Texas; uncle, Randy Vaughan, and wife, Brenda of Melissa, Texas; aunt, Debbie Mooney, and husband, Chris, of Mineola, Texas; uncle, Brad Vaughan of Dallas, Texas; uncle, Barry Peters, and wife, Kanina of Forney, Texas; and numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jimmy and Robbie Vaughan.
We invite you to join us this Sunday, September 8, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Towne Lake Park in McKinney, Texas for a Candlelight Vigil in loving memory of Whitney.
We’ll gather to honor Whitney’s life with a peaceful evening of reflection, candles, and shared memories. There will be a memory box available for anyone who wants to leave a letter or picture.
