Wesley Earle Barker

Mr. Wesley Earle Barker, age 58, passed away June 20, 2007, in Bonham, Texas. He was born November 16, 1948, in Amarillo, Texas, to J.W. and Alene (Earle) Barker. On July 18, 1975, he married Bettye Ann Griffitt. He was a retired drafting teacher with the Sherman I.S.D. and was a member of the Leonard Church of Christ. He was a former member of the Leonard Volunteer Fire Department, Kiwanis Club, VATAT (Vocational Agriculture Teachers of Texas) and VICA. He taught school at Duncanville and Leonard High Schools. In the 1970’s, he served as the Leonard High School Principal. He also owned and operated Barker Building Supply and Wes Barker Designs. Mr. Barker is survived by his wife, Bettye Ann Barker of Leonard, Texas; his parents, J.W. and Alene Barker of Bonham; sons, Zane Wesley Barker, Jay Griffitt Barker of Bonham, and Corporal Ted Allen Barker of Kailua, Hawaii; and his brother, Stan Barker of Leonard, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 10:00 AM, at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel in Leonard, Texas, with Toby Soechting and Charles Wrenn officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, at the funeral home starting at 6:00 PM.
