Wendy Greene, age 76, of Plano, Texas, passed away August 21, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Plano, Texas. Wendy was born January 17, 1945, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Wyndell and Delores (Smith) Harris. She graduated from Moore High School in Oklahoma in 1963. Wendy met her husband, Donald Buddy Greene, at Texas Instruments and they were married on June 27, 1964, in Dallas, Texas. They were married 54 years and together they had 2 sons and 2 daughters. She studied at Oklahoma University and at Richland College. Wendy was a wonderful mother. She was an active church member at Christ for the Nations Church. Wendy has two deaf children which required her to learn sign language. She became a certified interpreter and worked for many years in the RISD Schools as an Interpreter for the deaf.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Dee Greene and wife, Jennifer, and Cary Don Greene and wife, Amy; daughters, Tami Renee Nicolay and husband, Christian, and Kristy Michelle MacKenzie and husband, Pete; grandsons, Hunter Greene, Ryan Butler, Nicholas Rodenberger, Zane Nicolay, and Todd MacKenzie; granddaughters, Heather Hutchinson, Hailee Hutchinson, Carley Butler, Madison Greene, Georgia Greene, Rachel Wrigge and husband, Evan, Brianna Nicolay, and Tricia Wilson and husband, George; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Wrigge, Hailey Wilson, Kylie Wilson, and Anthony Herrera; sister, Jonnie Salazar; and brother, Tom Dean.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Buddy Greene, and her mother, Dolores Baugus.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 109 S. Oklahoma St., Celina, Texas, 75009. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
