WC "Dub" Bratcher

WC “Dub” Bratcher passed away early Monday morning, April 17th, 2023, following a brief illness. WC is survived by his wife of 22 years, Barbara Bratcher of Lubbock, a daughter, Marla Bratcher Canfield and husband, Taylor, of Dallas, two step-daughters, Christene Planansky and husband, Nick, of Anthony, Kansas, Lea Thomas and husband, Brian, of Perryton, Texas, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister, Debra McGaughey and husband, Allen, of Rhode Island.

WC was born in Blue Ridge, Texas, on October 14, 1945 to parents William Clarence Bratcher and Annie Modene (Mulder) Bratcher. WC graduated from McKinney High School in 1964 and has lived in Lubbock since 1969. WC received his Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University in 1972 and his Juris Doctorate degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1975. WC was a litigation attorney with Crenshaw, Dupree & Milam Law firm of Lubbock since 1975, specializing in personal injury defense, oil & gas, business, commercial and insurance law. WC was involved for many years as a Board Member of the Texas Tech University School of Law Foundation Board and the Texas Tech University School of Law Dean’s Executive Committee, receiving Emeritus status on both Boards. WC received the Texas Tech University School of Law Distinguished Service Award in 2015.

WC loved his ranch, American Quarter Horses and art. WC was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Texas. Cross roads of Hwy 78 and FM 981. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. 3801 S Loop 289, Lubbock, TX 79423
