IN LOVING MEMORY

Warren Schneider

Oct 02 1936 - Sep 30 2020

Warren Schneider passed away just shy of his 84th birthday on September 30, 2020 in Plano, Texas after a long-fought battle and complications of Parkinson’s disease.  He was born on October 2, 1936 to John and Dorothy (Featherstone) Schneider in Cleveland, Ohio.  Warren was raised in Rocky River, Ohio and graduated from Rocky River High School.  He attended Purdue University for one year and then transferred to Western Reserve’s school of architecture in Cleveland, Ohio.

His professional life in commercial kitchen design started at Stouffer Foods in Cleveland, Ohio.  He called several states home after leaving Ohio joining The Macke Company (now Service America) in Maryland, and then to his retirement in 2007 from Hopkins Foodservice Specialists while residing in Northern Virginia.  He then made his final move to Texas after his retirement in 2007.

With a difficulty in being complacent, his lifetime hobbies included rebuilding cars, with an emphasis on Volkswagen beetles, interesting 60’ and 70’s artwork, refinishing basements, landscaping, gardening, and creating birdhouse designs.  RV trips to Coastal Maine were frequent and lobster filled.

Warren was married to his wife, Donna in 1979 in Fairfax, Virginia extending and expanding his family.  He is survived by his daughter, Susan Witte and husband, David; step-children, Todd Sluss, Kelly Tanler and husband, James, and Paige Tejada; granddaughters, Casey de Anda and husband, Andrew, and Bree Brettman; Susan’s step-daughters, Brittany Mariscal and husband, Alejandro, and Nicole Witte;  step-grandchildren, Erika Sluss, Ian Sluss, Kelsey Tanler, Kevin Tanler, and Brenden Tejada; great grandchildren, Josey De Anda, and Shane (Shay) Sluss; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Schneider; step-grandson, Shane Sluss; and parents, John and Dorothy Schneider.
