Wanda Ruth Minchey of Van Alstyne, Texas passed away on October 24, 2021 at the age of 78. She was born April 7, 1943 to John Bunyan Pitts and Eula Bell Myre Pitts in Rockwall County, Texas. She married James Alvin Minchey on November 23, 1960 in Leonard, Texas. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and Nana to many. Wanda was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Van Alstyne, Texas. She loved God, family, and Southern Gospel Music. She was the happiest when singing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Curtis Wayne Minchey of Sherman, Texas and James Kevin Minchey and wife Jennifer of Nevada, Texas; her daughters, Carole Yvonne Deaver and Husband John of Van Alstyne, Texas, Laura Michele Franke and Husband Dan of Oak Point, Texas and Jamie LeeAnn Minchey of Van Alstyne, Texas; her grandchildren, Marc Carden of Van Alstyne, Texas, Melody Bolton of Van Alstyne, Texas, Ashley Minchey of Carrollton, Texas, Cassie Hicks of Sherman, Texas, Troy Minchey of Howe, Texas, Seth, Hannah and Karlee Franke of Oak Point, Texas, Ryan and Ben Minchey of Nevada, Texas; and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband James Alvin Minchey, loving parents and eight siblings.
A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 29, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 701 North Cedar Street, Leonard, Texas 75452 with a graveside to be followed at 3:00 p.m. at Leonard Cemetery.
