IN LOVING MEMORY

Wanda Lene Byars

Aug 12 1929 - May 26 2020

Wanda Wygal Byars, who was born on August 12, 1929, went to be with our heavenly father on May 26, 2020 surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years Billy Ray Byars, parents Elmer and Ada Wygal, sisters Opal Hinton, Ruby Clemmons, and Sammy Patterson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her only son Donnie Ray Byars and daughter in law Deborah Kay Byars. She is also survived by her granddaughters; Alexis Rae Byars and Haley Kristen Byars, great granddaughter Locklyn Jade Bryan, and sister and best friend Mary Hughes.

Formerly of Farmersville, Wanda lived in West Monroe, Louisiana for the last twenty years with her son and daughter in law. She was a dedicated member of Highland Baptist Church. Wanda loved spending time with her family and going out to eat with the members of Highland Baptist Church. To know Wanda Byars was to love her.

A private service was held at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home on May 29, 2020 officiated by Pastor Skip Dean. Serving as pallbearers were her loved ones Louis Byrd, Greg Hughes, Brandon McMullen and Mark Hinton.

The family apologizes for not being able to have a public service. They would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support shown. The family will have a celebration of her life at a later date at Highland Baptist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana.

The family would like to also thank Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, her nurses, Susan Johnston and Jennia Adams, and caregiver Renee Hawkins, who treated her like family, not a patient.

Wanda Wygal Byars was the epitome of a Godly woman. Her legacy will continue to shine through her loved ones.
