Wanda Nelson

Wanda Nelson of Mesquite, Texas passed away September 7, 2021 at the age of 89.  She was born on March 21, 1932 to Zachary Copus and Myrtle Lucille (Dickens) Copus.  Wanda was a graduate of Allen High School in Allen, Texas.  She was married to the late Robert Arnold Nelson.  Wanda worked for 20 years as an office manager for Executive Services in Plano, Texas.  She was a member of White Rock United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas.  Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her sons, Calvin J. Baker and wife, Michelle of Mesquite, Texas; Mitchell W. Baker and wife, Julie of Quinlan, Texas, Robert W. Nelson and wife, Sherri of Richardson, Texas, and Bill Nelson and wife, Laura of Richardson, Texas; nephew, David Mackey and wife, Patricia; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nelson; son, Steven Baker; parents; Zachary and Myrtle Copus; sister, Ora Mackey; and brothers, Jim Copus, Bill Copus, and Dub Copus.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  The service will also be live streamed by clicking on the following link:https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/wanda-nelson. Following the service, an inurnment will be held at the Garden Mausoleum at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.
