Wanda Maxine Barnett, age 96, of Lewisville, Texas passed away on June 8, 2025, in Plano, Texas. She was born on April 5, 1929, to Ardona (Carl) and Theodore Henry Cramer in Griffin, Indiana. On September 17, 1948, Maxine married Ernest Malcolm Barnett in Griffin, Indiana and they spent the next 76 years loving each other.

Maxine first worked as a telephone operator, doing split shifts, to support Ernest while he attended OU getting a petroleum engineering degree. She was a wonderful mother with a great personality with a very quick wit. She took up painting at 40 years old and sewing machine repair/collecting at 70 years old. She was always busy

Maxine is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, Ernest Malcolm Barnett of Lewisville, Texas; her sons, Mike Barnett and his wife, Tommi Lynn of Bells, Texas, Jeff Barnett and his wife, Connie of Aubrey, Texas; his three grandchildren, Jason Barnett, Jenna Barnett, Amber Barnett; his three great-grandchildren, Madison Taylor, Macie Taylor, and Jayden Barnett.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Ardona and Theodore Cramer; her sisters, Vera Mae Hays and Esther Carner.

A funeral will be held at Werry Funeral home in New Harmony, Indiana.
