Wanda Frances Davis, a beloved resident of Whitesboro, Texas, peacefully passed away on January 9, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born on August 7, 1935, in Farmersville, Texas, to the late Henry L. and Myrtle (Ross) Tadlock.
Wanda's journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a vibrant spirit. She graduated from McKinney High School in 1953, setting the foundation for a life filled with achievement and joy. On December 19, 1953, in Frisco, Texas, Wanda married the love of her life, Edgar Earl "Buzz" Davis. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, spanning over seven decades.
For 30 years, Wanda dedicated herself to her work as a policy clerk at State Farm until her well-deserved retirement in 1997. Her commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on both her colleagues and the community.
Wanda's faith was an essential part of her life. She was a devoted member of Lebanon Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas, and later, after relocating to Whitesboro, she found solace and community at Lone Star Cowboy Church of Grayson County. Her spiritual journey was a source of strength and comfort to her, and she shared that warmth with those around her.
In her leisure time, Wanda found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for fishing, camping, and nurturing her cherished rose bushes. Her love for nature and the outdoors was evident in the moments she spent under the open sky, creating lasting memories with family and friends.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and the love she generously shared with those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and a life well-lived.
Wanda is survived by her children, Randy Earl Davis and wife, Michelle of Gordonville, Texas, Rita Fay Moncier of Frisco, Texas, and Rhonda Renee Ishmael and husband, Ricky of Gordonville, Texas; grandchildren, Thomas Earl Davis and wife, Ashley, Julia Johnson, Amie Lorene Pouges and husband, David, Tina Renee Wade and husband, Coley, Alicia Michelle Schmitt and husband, Douglas, Liz Trosper and husband, Andy Canales, and Megan Trosper; numerous great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; sister, Mamie Cook; brother, Travis Tadlock; sister, Ophelia Godwin; several nieces and nephews; a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 10 brothers and sisters; son-in-law, Roy Moncier; and great grandchildren, Clara Gregory and Kendra Gregory.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
