IN LOVING MEMORY

Wanda "Cathy" Williams

Jul 08 1953 - Mar 06 2017

Wanda “Cathy” Williams, age 63, of Allen, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2017. She was born in Citronelle, Alabama to Fletcher and Mary Louise (Woodard) Smith.  Cathy grew up in Charity Chapel, Alabama where she attended school and graduated from Citronelle High School in 1972.  She married Lawrence Houston Williams on March 28, 1970, in Kushula, Alabama.  Her early years were spent at home raising her girls while Lawrence worked offshore.  The love Cathy poured into her family extended into the community where she volunteered and supported ministries.  Most importantly, no need was left unmet that she ever came across.  Cathy loved to travel, cook family meals, eat gummy everything, nap in her recliner, and put everyone else first.  Her loving legacy and pride and joy were her seven grandchildren that referred to her as “Mimi”.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Allen, Texas.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, Lawrence Williams, of Allen, Texas; daughter, Elisa Shaw and husband Randy of Frisco, Texas and Niki Harris and husband Kent of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Camdyn Shaw, Britton Shaw, Patton Harris, Gates Shaw, McLaine Harris, Hagen Harris, and Monroe Harris; sisters, Margaret Booth and husband Franklin of Chunchula, Alabama, and Linda Overstreet, of Citronelle, Alabama; and brother, Fletcher “Cedar” Smith, Jr. also of Citronelle, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wayne Smith and Edward Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, with Dr. Jimmy Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
