Walter Ray Evans was born on June 16, 1939 in Tyler, Texas, to Hubert Evans and Janette Lee Evans.
Walter grew up in Tyler and worked on farms and laying pipes until he retired. He married Melinda Najai Murphy on February 14, 2003 in McKinney, Texas. They were sealed in the Dallas Temple on February 8, 2018.
Walter loved watching western movies, Little House on the Prairie, and Gone with the Wind. He was a devoted husband and father and active, beloved member of his church.
He is survived by his wife Melinda Evans; siblings Cecil Evans, Faith Evans, and Darlene Evans Brown, as well as many nieces and nephews. He had one son, Joshua Leach who proceeded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 18th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 513 Sycamore Street, Farmersville, Texas, 75442.
