Walter Timothy Lewis

Walter Timothy Lewis of McKinney, Texas passed away January 28, 2017, at the age of 72.  He was born July 28, 1944, to Walter T. Lewis and Virginia (Nixon) Lewis in Brenham, Texas.  He attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 1966.  After the completion of officer candidate school in 1967, he served his country proudly in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant in the Artillery Division.  After his honorable discharge from the armed forces in 1969, he attended law school at the University of Houston, graduating cum laude in 1972. He practiced criminal law in Houston and went on to serve for many years as municipal court judge for the city of Bellaire, Texas.
 
Walter is survived by his daughters, Amy Jones and her husband, Robert of McKinney, Texas and Melissa Smith and her husband, Craig of Jasper, Texas; grandchildren, Parker, Lindsey, and Peyton Jones and Andrew and Amanda Smith; brothers, David Lewis of Houston, Texas and Bruce Lewis, Lake Jackson, Texas; and sister, Sally Lewis of San Antonio, Texas.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Becky Lewis.
