Walter D Crump passed away March 16, 2024 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 85. He was born February 25, 1939 in Collin County, Texas to Walter Crump and Delia Howell Crump. Walter married the love of his life, Donna Ruth Self May 5, 1967 in Celeste, Texas.
He was a member of First McKinney Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas. He served faithfully for many years in various capacities, most recently as a greeter. Walter was also a military veteran having served in the United States Army.
Walter is survived by his wife, Donna Crump of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Debbie Billups and husband, Bob of Sanger, Texas; son, Ronnie Self and wife, Anne Marie of McKinney, Texas; sister, Francis Bench of Chandler, Texas; sister, Louise Hass of Merit, Texas; brother, George Crump and wife, Sharon of Farmersville, Texas; grandchildren, Jared Billups of Waco, Texas, Brandon Billups of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee, Ronna Boyd of McKinney, Texas, Ryan Billups of Rockwall, Texas, and Grayson Self of McKinney, Texas; 11 great grandchildren and numerous other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Delia Crump; sister, Leaura (Peach) Hass; sister, Melba Rowland; sister, Madeline Bacon and great grandson, Hudson Oliver Boyd.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 at First McKinney Baptist Church 1615 West Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
