Vivian Verver passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2022 at the age of 81. Vivian was born December 13, 1940 in Winnsboro, Louisiana to James and Doris Gates. She grew up in Louisiana and later moved to Irving, Texas with her family. Vivian graduated from Irving High School and attended El Centro College to receive her LVN license in 1972 and her RN license in 1988. Vivian met and married her high school sweetheart, Danny Verver, in 1958. Vivian worked for over thirty years at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas in the Gastroenterology Department. She was a devoted mother and a leader of her daughter Kimberly’s Bluebird group. Vivian was also a devoted grandma to her granddaughter Jill and grandson PJ. After retirement from St. Paul Hospital, Vivian worked part-time for the Plano Independent School District as a school crossing guard for Hedgcoxe Elementary and Mendenhall Elementary schools. A long-time Methodist, Vivian was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Irving, Texas where she was active in her Sunday school class. Later after moving to Allen, Texas to be close to her daughter and grandchildren, she became a member of Custer Road United Methodist Church in 2005. Vivian loved traveling with her daughter’s family which included a trip to England, Ireland and Scotland with her daughter and granddaughter.
She is survived by her son, Dana Keith Verver; daughter, Kimberly Renee Verver Weiner, (Terry); granddaughter, Jill Dawson (David); grandson, Peter Joel Weiner; great-grandchildren, Oliver Dawson and Hannah Dawson; sisters, Lurlene Morse, Carolyn LaVarnway (JW); brother, Tommy Gates (Gail); as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, younger brother, Jimmy Gates and former husband, Danny Verver.
The family is most appreciative of the wonderful help and support received from Three Oaks Hospice of Dallas.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 North Central Expressway, Allen, Texas 75013.
