Virginia E. Mills of McKinney, Texas passed away February 20, 2023 at the age of 85. She was born on March 21, 1937 to Earnest Brown Weaver and Eva (Smith) Weaver in Waynesboro, Mississippi. Virginia married Arthur L. Mills on December 12, 1954 in Waynesboro. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Virginia will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Arthur Mills of McKinney, Texas; sons, Arthur Lonny Mills of McKinney, Texas and Gary E. Mills and wife, Linda of Littleton, Colorado; daughter, Stephanie Lee Gladney of McKinney, Texas; five grandchildren, Sarah Montano and husband, Frankie of Littleton, Colorado, Ashley Dame and husband, Nathan of Rockwall, Texas, Diana Buchwald and husband, Wade of East Aurora, New York, Holley Massey and husband, Kyle of Prosper, Texas, and Emiley Welker and husband, Jonathon of Pearl, Mississippi; eight great-grandchildren, Makayla, Megan, Caleb, Cailey, Grey, Silas, Indy, and Irelynn “Iley”; and a host of loving family and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dan Weaver; and brother, Ernest Weaver.
A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. for viewing, 2:00 p.m. for service on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Freedom Church, 2435 East Hebron Parkway, Carrollton, Texas 75010. The family will receive friends during a reception one hour preceding the service at the church.
