Virginia Dean, age 89, a life long resident of McKinney, Texas passed away October 22, 2008. She was born December 9, 1918 in McKinney, Texas to Earnest B. and Van Dona (Jones) Hankins. Virginia married Andy Clay Dean in McKinney, Texas. She was a legal secretary, as well as a medical secretary with the Federal Government. Prior to that, she was a legal secretary in private practice. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McKinney for eighty years and a worker in the young children’s Sunday school for more than sixty years. She was an active member of the Forever Young Group for twenty-five years. She is survived by her son, Louis Dean of McKinney, Texas; sister, Evelyn Bowers of Austin, Texas; nieces, Belinda Baker and husband, David and their children, Charla, Emily and Matthew of Colleyville, Texas and Becky Hernandez and husband, Oscar and their sons, Joe and Justin of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest B. and Van Dona Hankins; husband, Andy Dean; brother, H.K. “Hank” Hankins and his wife, Maymalee; brother-in-law, Charles Bowers. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
