Virginia Gail Brown of Plano, Texas passed away on November 19, 2022 at the age of 82. She was born on June 20, 1940 to Joel Elaster Martin and Ida Valera (Collins) Martin in Aransas Pass, Texas. Virginia married the late Jimmie Lloyd Brown on February 24, 1962 in Fort Worth, Texas. They enjoyed 34 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 1996. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Virginia will be missed dearly by those who knew her and loved her.
She graduated from Technical High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Virginia enjoyed a variety of occupations and accomplishments during her lifetime, such as: Soda Fountain waitress and Manager, Periodontal Surgical Assistant, Kindergarten Teacher, Co-Business Owner of Women’s clothing stores and a salon; Dental lab Technician, Childcare, Receptionist and Colon Therapist for a Chiropractic office, Reflexologist, Massage Therapist, Reflexology and Massage Instructor, Developer of her own Modality in massage, Author of seven textbooks for her modality of massage and videos, as well as a developer of her own massage therapy oils and facial products.
Virginia ministered in her community and to people abroad in such ways as: Sunday School Superintendent, singing in the Choir & singing Specials, Writer and Director of children’s cantatas, Nursing home ministry, Home visitation ministry, Christian Clown ministry, helping the needy in food pantries, etc. Virginia became an ordained minister in 1995. She also wrote songs, both individually and in her later years cowrote music with her Voice Instructor David Houston, and recorded them, and to date they have 19 songs registered with the copyright office.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Victory and husband Ricky of Plano, Texas and Steven Brown of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Victory of Garland, Texas, Christopher Victory of Plano, Texas, Michelle Victory of Plano, Texas, Jennifer Victory of Plano, Texas, Stephanie Victory of Coppell, Texas, and Jason Victory of Plano, Texas; sister, Patricia Starnes of Leander, Texas; as well as 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Joel Elaster Martin and Ida Valera Collins; Husband, Jimmie Lloyd Brown; brothers, Jo Martin, Bobby Martin, Richard Martin, and Larry Martin.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
