Vincent John Walsh, Sr. passed away September 18, 2022 in Fairview, Texas at the age of 88. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Joseph Roger and Augustine Mary (Zanone) Walsh on February 13, 1934.
Vincent grew up in Memphis and went to Christian Brothers High School and Christian Brothers College. He was the 5th of 6 children. He loved all sports and especially loved to play baseball. He even played some minor league ball for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1955, Vincent married his wife Beverly, and they spent the next 67 years together. Their family grew with the birth of their oldest daughter Lynn, and grew more with their children John, Leigh, and lastly their daughter Amy. Vincent was the perfect Dad. He supported his family in every way and kept them as his priority. This love and support flowed easily to his love of his grand and great grandkids. He loved cheering them on at their many different events. Vincent was a role model for his family and exemplified the person they all strive to be. Community involvement was a big part of Vincent’s life. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and later the Plano West Rotary Club for over 30 years. Vincent’s loves in life can be seen in how he spent his time and life. He loved serving his Lord, helping his community, and loving every minute with his family. As an example of his dedication to his family, Vincent acquired a business in Plano in 1981 to keep his family together. Most members of the family have spent time working at Bestway Office Supply, the family business.
Vincent is survived by his wife, Beverly Walsh of Fairview, Texas; son, John Walsh and wife, Donna of Lucas, Texas; daughter, Leigh Crain and husband, Jack of Plano, Texas; daughter, Amy Walstad and husband, Bill of Fairview, Texas; grandkids, Jennifer, Vince, Matt, Ben, Natalie, Jackson, Wade, Abby, and Reed; 12 great grandkids, with 3 on the way and counting.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn Hindman, his parents, Roger and Augustine Walsh, his beloved sister Mary Agnes Berlin, and brothers, Joe, Mike, and Billy.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
