IN LOVING MEMORY

Victoria Ashford

Mar 13 1952 - Sep 14 2020

Victoria Trent Ashford passed away on September 14, 2020. She lived with passion and elegance and always believed in the power of kindness. She had an incredible intellect and loved a challenge which led her to become successful at anything she put her mind to — from racing sailboats to designing jewelry to running a horse farm. She built Pondview Farm together with her late husband, Mike, and fell in love with Thoroughbreds (and any other creature that happened on to the farm). She was a natural horsewoman and had a knack for pairing bloodlines that was reflected in the worldwide success of the farm’s offspring. She was well respected by her colleagues in the Thoroughbred industry not only for her achievements but also her integrity. She loved her horses as if they were her own children and always advocated for the importance of ethics and aftercare in the racing industry.

She was caring and loyal to everyone she befriended. She loved to share her hobbies of interior design and cooking with her friends and family through beautiful dinner parties that would last long into the night. She was an affectionate, dedicated mother and wife. Above all, she was a beautiful soul that will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to LOPE, an organization that helps transition and rehome at-risk racehorses. Donations can be made either by check (LOPE, 901 Darden Hill Road, Driftwood, TX 78619) or online
