Vickie Cheryl Godwin of Princeton, Texas passed away on July 6, 2020. She was born on January 6, 1958 to Howell Mantooth and Bonnye (Cox) Mantooth in McKinney, Texas. Vickie graduated from Plano Senior High School. After high school, she went to work for Lance Crackers for several years before she started to work for Fisher Controls as a machine operator. She would retire after 30 years of service. Vickie married Donny Godwin on November 27, 1996 in Frisco, Texas. She returned to school and received her associate’s degree in accounting from Grayson County College. Vickie then went to work for Staats Enterprises for the last several years.
Vickie is survived by her husband, Donny Godwin; daughter, Ashley Godbey; 3 stepdaughters, Judy Shores and husband, John, Christy Martin and husband, Brandon and Angie Wood; 9 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Brenda Lynd and Karen Bowman and husband, Tim and 1 sister-in-law, Lena Mantooth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howell and Bonnye Mantooth and her brother, Randell Mantooth.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, the following are Ridgeview Memorial Parks guidelines. All are invited to attend the Graveside Service, maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
A “come and go” visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
