Veronica Vasaya Dimas of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away on March 7, 2022 at the age of 73. She was born on July 9, 1948 to Juan Vasaya and Fredisvenda (Suico) Vasaya in Cebu, Philippines and she grew up there. This is where she met her husband, Reynaldo. Veronica married Reynaldo Dimas on January 3, 1976 in Cebu, Philippines and they have been together ever since. They started their family with the birth of their son, Sherwin and their family grew with the birth of their daughter, Maria Vivette. Veronica went to the University of San Jose - Recoletos, Main where she got a bachelor’s in accounting. In 1988, Veronica and her husband migrated to California from the Philippines. She and her husband Rey lived in Long Beach and around Southern California area for almost 10 years. Veronica then moved to Texas with her family around 1998 because of job opportunity at GE/ Verizon wireless.  Her last job was at GM Financial as quality analyst. Veronica worked there from 2007 until present.  She enjoyed working at GM Financial and got to know many nice people.  Veronica was a loving mother. She loved doting on her family but never forgot her community. Veronica was very generous. Her and Rey traveled all over the world. They set foot on all the desirable continents, leaving Antarctica off the list. Her family will greatly miss her. Her Biko and Pancit dishes will be missed by all that got to try them. Veronica’s favorite dish was roasted pig in the Philippines called Inasal. She loved the crunchy pieces. Veronica was a great listener, always being able to hear the person out but her friends never walked away without hearing how proud Veronica was of her family. Veronica was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Church in Grand Prairie, Texas for a long time.

Veronica was survived by her husband, Reynaldo Dimas of Grand Prairie, Texas; son, Sherwin Dimas and wife, Lea Rhea of Carrollton, Texas; daughter, Maria Vivette Reolada and husband, Jonas of Allen, Texas; grandkids, Colyn, Aidyn, Julianne Mariebella, Vea Florianna, Elijah Anthony; brother, Antonio Vasaya of Cebu, Philippines; sister, Fe Pacres of Cebu, Philippines; brother, Winston Vasaya of Cebu, Philippines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mondre Vasaya and Rolando Vasaya; sister, Luvincita Vasaya Ramos.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022 St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 North Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002. The service will also be live streamed at https://www.facebook.com/stjudesacraments. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Road, Rowlett, Texas 75088.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013, with a rosary starting at 6:30 p.m.
