This lady was a dear, sweet friend, mother, grandmother and a perfect example of a Godly woman. She will be missed by so many who knew her and loved her. Aleen and Bob Grimes, May 18, 2019 Vergie was a special lady. She and Eddie, really the whole Bridges family, took in a young, wet-behind-the ears youth minister in the 70s and gave him support, along with plenty of meals and a place that felt like home. My stay in Allen lasted about 1 1/2 years, but I have felt connected to this family in so many ways over the years. I was glad to reconnect with them on Facebook and was able to see Vergie a couple of years ago on one of their trips to Oklahoma. I have come to see hospitality as a spiritual practice, and I am one of the many people with whom Vergie shared that gift. My thoughts and prayers to all the family. Peace. Gary Gary Hardwick, May 18, 2019 I am so sorry for your loss. May the 'God of all comfort' be with you during this difficult time. I have personally found comfort in the promise at 1 Corinthians 15:26 where it states that very soon 'death will be brought to nothing'. Then, we have the prospect of being reunited with our loved ones right here on Earth (John 5:28,29). I truly hope this brings you comfort and peace. With deepest sympathies, Gra and family. G Huckeba, May 17, 2019 Michael, what a sweet tribute to your mother. She sounds like a precious lady. The pillow case dresses to the missionaries is just so touching and heart warming to me. My prayers are with you and Debra during the loss of both of your mothers. Anne Ryon, May 16, 2019 I’m so sorry that you all lost your mom. She was quite a lady!!! Heaven is rejoicing!! Marsha Johnson, May 16, 2019 We are sorry for your loss. Her sweet nature always came everywhere shining through on the occasions we met. Heaven is now more sweet.
Dawn Blue, May 16, 2019 To all of Vergie's family, I send my love and prayers during this very sad time. A wonderful lady has now left this earth and gone to be with her husband and her parents. Pain is no more. I am so glad I had the chance to visit with Vergie while I stayed with Cathy and Ronny in January of this year. Take care, all of you - will be thinking of you and praying for your strength on Friday night and then again on Saturday as the funeral service for Vergie takes place. Margot Horner, May 16, 2019 I know she must have been a wonderful Christian mother because she raised such a caring, Godly son. I’m sure all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are blessed because of her and she will be greatly missed. Praying for comfort for the whole family.

Dave and Elaine Spohn, May 15, 2019 The Lord took the last of our precious Angels! She worked hard on this earth. If you needed Love you got it! If you needed clothes she dressed you. If you needed food she fed you. If you needed money she gave you money. If you were a brat you definitely got corrected! Rest In Peace caboose! We LOVE you! Durenda , May 14, 2019 She was a great woman that I loved very much. I was lucky to had her as my aunt.
Raymond and Karin Cummings, May 14, 2019 Love you Aunt Corky. Thank you for being there for my girls. I'm sorry I didn't get there way before. I meant to. You were the last of a long line of amazing Elliott siblings who were such a part of Brooks' life. The stories I heard about all the fishing trips and times growing up are classic and precious. You and Eddie always made me feel so welcome in that big family. You're in my heart. I know Uncle Eddie is singing about now.

I didn't get a chanch to get to know Vergie, but the little I knew was abundant. She was a wonderful lady and loved her family. I have known Michael for a very long time and have known Cathy since joining FBC Allen. Both are great people whom I have grown to love. Vergie will be greatly missed. Nelda Dickerman , May 14, 2019 Our hearts are saddened by the passing of Mrs Vergie, but we rejoice with you that she is now with the Lord and in her glorious Heavenly Home. Danna and Barry Miller, May 14, 2019 I’m so happy that you are reunited with Grandpa! You will be missed and loved forever. Justin, Barri, Truett, Connor & Syler Justin Bridges, May 14, 2019
