Vere Beth Shelton of McKinney, Texas passed away June 6, 2018, at the age of 92. She was born May 13, 1926, to Cecil B. Jeanes and Ona Hays Jeanes in McKinney, Texas. Vere married her first husband Leon C. “Buck” in 1943. In 1985, she married Bill Shelton. Vere worked for the U.S. Civil Service Commission for forty years before co-founding Shelton and Associates in McKinney with her husband Bill. She was a member of First Baptist Church in McKinney for sixty years where she taught both adult and children classes and served on many church committees.
Vere is survived by her son, Ted Robinson and wife Kathleen of McKinney, Texas; grandsons, Jeff Robinson and wife Terri of McKinney, Texas, Kyle Robinson and wife Holly of Melissa, Texas and Robbie Robinson and wife Kelly also of McKinney, Texas; granddaughter, Amy Hudnall and husband, Robert of Lowry Crossing; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, C.B. Jeanes of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Mary McKelvy of Bay City, Texas and Jean Wyatt of Dallas, Texas; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Leon C. “Buck” Robinson, second husband, Bill Shelton and brother, Perry Jeanes.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 1615 W. Louisiana, McKinney, Texas. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
