Vera Loyce (Robinson) Allen, a resident of Allen, Texas, passed away January 22, 2025, at the age of ninety-four. She was born on April 13, 1930 to Andrew Jackson Robinson and Eva (Cockerham) Robinson in Baskin, Louisiana. Loyce graduated from Crowville High School in the Class of 1947. She met and married the love of her life, Thomas Edward Allen, on May 5, 1952, in Crowville, Louisiana. This was a truly special day for Tom and Loyce, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment. Their love and devotion to each other for over 56 years was a testament to their deep bond and dedication. They built a beautiful legacy! The lessons they taught their children, special moments they shared, and the values that have been passed down to the next generations will always be treasured.
Loyce was a homemaker who raised five children. Her house was always spotless, and meals were always on the table. You could often hear the washing machine starting its daily cycle around 5:00 a.m., a constant reminder of the tireless effort she put into caring for her family. She continued this until all her children were in school.
She carried that same dedication into her first job as a housekeeper at the Cavalier Lodge in McKinney, Texas. She quickly demonstrated her abilities and transitioned into an office position, eventually rising to manage the business for the owner. Following the sale of the Lodge, she joined the team at Woods Motel, also in McKinney, where she enjoyed a successful career until her retirement in 2004.
Loyce is survived by her children, Michael Allen and wife, Alisha, of Allen, Texas, Ricky Allen and wife, Leslie, of Richardson, Texas, Suzanne Cornett and husband Garen, of Crandall, Texas, and Cathye Pendley and husband Chad, of Choctaw, Oklahoma; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and a host of many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Loyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Edward Allen, son, Thomas Wayne Allen, parents, Andrew and Eva Robinson, brother Leroy Robinson, sister, Jackie Foster, and brother-in-law, Billy Foster.
