Veida Skaggs Jackson, age 80, of The Colony, Texas passed away on July 2, 2020 in Plano, Texas. She was born on February 23, 1940 to Eula Nadine Hayes and Elby Oran Skaggs in Lewisville, Texas. Vedia was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Vedia is survived by her six children, Shirley Castleberry of Frisco, Texas, Gary D. Castleberry and his wife, Debbie of Frisco, Texas, Beverly Sanchez and her husband, Jesse of Little Elm, Texas, Carl Lee Castleberry of The Colony, Texas, Linda Botkins and her husband, James of The Colony, Texas, and Carl E. Jackson of Frisco, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Stephanie Mowery and her husband, Michael, Nicholas Carter and his fiancé, Linsey Evans, Steven Sanchez and his wife, Charlotte, Tanner Castleberry and his wife, Holly, Krystle Carter and her fiancé, Taylor Kyles, Ashley Portillo and her husband, Oscar, Lauren Sanchez, Kimberly Patterson and her husband, Joshua, Nathan Crimm, Kevin Lancaster and his wife, Hannah, and Brittany Castleberry; sixteen great-grandchildren, Ayden, Jaxson, Brooklyn, Raelyn, Carter, Isaiah, Ariah, Brooke, Beau, Jett, Keith, Kane, Zoe, Caleb, Kelton and Konner; her sister, Gladys Coe of Marlow, Oklahoma.
Vedia was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd C. Castleberry and Carl Jackson; her brother, Boyd Skaggs; and her sister, Wilma Calfey.
Family and firends are invited to a Visitation on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home in Frisco on Thursday, July 9, 2020 beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at LIttle Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas.
