Tyler James King, of Allen, Texas, passed away on September 23, 2025, at the age of 34. He was born on January 14, 1991, in Farmington, New Mexico, to Dennis J. and Carrie A. (Vanderpool) King.
Tyler graduated from McKinney High School in 2009 and later earned a business degree from Western Governors University. He worked at Andrews Distributing for ten years.
Tyler, always an avid reader, especially enjoyed The Lord of the Rings, and always had a recommendation for anyone who needed a good book. Playing guitar was a favorite hobby of Tyler’s, and his love of music spanned all genres, though The Beatles and Blink-182 held a special place in his heart. Tyler enjoyed gaming, watching anime, and spending time with his cat, Mable. He loved watching old movies and hanging out with his friends.
Tyler’s big and generous heart was always helping others and putting them at ease. Tyler had an innate ability to meet people where they were, whether they needed a heartfelt chat or a moment of quiet. His kindness and patience welcomed anyone and will be greatly missed.
Tyler is survived by his parents, Carrie and Dennis King of McKinney, Texas; sister, Katelynn Crawford and husband, Chase of Gainesville, Florida; grandmother, Vicki King of McKinney, Texas; grandparents, Glen and Marsha Vanderpool of McKinney, Texas; aunt, Amy Sievert and husband, Terry of Allen, Texas; uncle, Craig Vanderpool and wife, Brenna of Washington, D.C.; cousins, McKenzie, Samantha, and Karissa Sievert; and many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim King.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Greenville Oaks Church of Christ in Allen, Texas.
