Troy L. Lester passed away December 27, 2021 in Denison, Texas at the age of 80. He was born June 3, 1941 to Leonard Delbert and Myrtle May (Craft) Lester in Hugo, Oklahoma. Troy attended Murray State in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He married Carol Ann Biggs on January 15, 1965 in Dallas, Texas. Troy worked for Southwestern Bell from 1961 to 1993; he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Lester of Denison, Texas; daughter, Leslie Lester Osborne of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters, Rachel and Ellery Osborne, both of Dallas, Texas; brother, Delbert Lester and wife, Judy of Soper, Oklahoma; brother, Ronnie Lester and wife, Sue of Savoy, Texas; and brother, Donnie Lester and wife, Vicki of Hugo, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Myrtle Lester; sisters, Darlene Moore and Dorothy Marie Logan; and his brother-in-law, Rogene Logan.
Troy was never one to complain. He was known for: his amiable nature and general kindness, his ability to repair almost anything, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. In sum, Troy Lester was much loved and ‘good at life’; he will be missed tremendously.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Monday, January 3, 2021 at Turrrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas following the service.
