Troy L. Federspiel of Plano, Texas passed away October 22, 2018 at the age of 57. He was born June 11, 1961 to John Federspiel and Nancy (Spencer) Federspiel in Omaha, Nebraska. Troy, a decorated war veteran, served his country proudly for 10 years in the United States Army and during the Persian Gulf War. He married Teresa Mulhausen on August 7, 1982 in Plano, Texas and to this union three children were born. After Troy's military service, he worked as a Quality Control Engineer. Troy volunteered his time for over 20 years coaching his children, running baseball and football boards, and refereeing youth sports for PSA. He believed in the value and importance of youth sports in children's lives. Troy also spent many years volunteering to coach Middle School and High School "at risk kids".
He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Federspiel of Plano, Texas; sons, Jeff Federspiel of Lewisville, Texas and Shaun Federspiel of Plano, Texas; daughter, Emily Federspiel and fiancé, Lance Jones of Plano, Texas; father, John Federspiel and wife, Kerry of Anderson, South Carolina; grandson, Alex Becerra of Fayetteville, Arkansas, granddaughters, Amelie Federspiel of Lewisville, Texas and BellaKay Jones of Plano, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Federspiel and brother, Scott Federspiel.
A Remembrance Gathering will be held 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. An inurnment with Military Honors will be held in DFW National Cemetery at a later date.
