IN LOVING MEMORY

Tony Morales

Dec 19 1928 - Jan 15 2017

Mr. Tony Jimenez Morales has passed away in Allen, Texas, at the age of 88.

Tony is  survived by his wife, Linda Morales; children, Dorian Portillo, Franchesca Morales, and Gabriella Montoya; grandchildren, Alexandra Portillo, Anthony Portillo, Cassandra Montoya, and Ryan Montoya, Chino, CA.

Tony was born on December 19, 1928 in Watts, California to Pascacio Morales and Antanacia Morales. Tony was the 7th child of 8 siblings. He left school early to find work to help the family finances. He started a job as a house mover with Almas House Moving Inc. in Los Angeles, CA, where he worked at the age of 15 until he was drafted into the Army for the Korean War. When his tour was over he rejoined Almas House Moving and met his wife Linda.  The couple married 5 years after they met at the Zenda Ballroom, in Los Angeles. Over the next 4 years, the couple welcomed 3 children into their home. By that time Tony moved on to work as a cement mason and then a yard hostler for Consolidated Freightways, from which he retired after 27years. His children remember him as a hard-working, self-educated man who enjoyed camping, reading  and spending time with his ‘girls’. Tony was loved and admired by many nieces and nephews with whom he visited often. Tony was an individual who found time to travel when he retired, loved the chaos of politics, watching news programs and was passionate about writing a memoir on his life.

The funeral for Mr. Morales will be held in Los Angeles next month. The family would like to thank his caregiver and the wonderful staff at Medical Center of Plano in Texas for their efforts and care during the last months of his life.
