Tommie Bothwell was born June 16, 1912 to Tom and Annie Dobie. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She attended school in Celina, received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from North Texas State University. She taught 1st and 2nd grades for 37 years--35 in Celina. She married Sam Bothwell in 1936. Mrs. Bothwell passed away September 27, 2011 at the home of her daughter, West of Prosper, where she lived for the past 6 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Celina her whole life and served as elder and treasurer for many years. She was a charter member of the Fidelis Inter Se Club. Mrs. Bothwell is survived by her daughter, Sammie Carey; granddaughters, Jo Lynn Ninemire and husband, Steve, Laura Varner and husband, Doug; grandson, Mark Carey and wife, Cathi; great grandson, Wade Ninemire and wife, Elizabeth; great granddaughters, Kelly Ninemire, Kristin Varner and Katie Varner, and her niece, Peggy Hiest. She was preceded in death by her father in 1913, her husband in 1942, her mother in 1959, her sister, Maggie Howell, in 1977, and her sister, Elizabeth Perry, in 2001. Visitation will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral home in Celina Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 4-6 pm. A Funeral Service will be at the Funeral Home in Celina on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Donations may be sent to the Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P.O.
